Vale Nick Costin

preparing for departure from Bathurst Airport.

Nick's partner Simone is helping Vince to buckle up.

It was a sad day for the Volunteers and Committee of

the Australian Aviation Museum, Bankstown when long

time friend Nick Costin lost his life in the crash of his

Strikemaster Jet near Bathurst recently.

For some time the Museum has been home for another

of Mr. Costin's aircraft, a Jet Provost (below) which was to

have been restored to flying condition in the near future.

Museum Curator and good friend of Nick Costin,

Trevor Dean, was due to fly with him from

Bathurst at the end of October !

Our thoughts go out to partner Simone,

father John, brother Mike and ex wife Julie.

A moving Celebration of Nick's

extraordinary life was held last Tuesday,

October 25 in Hangar 400, Bankstown Airport

where Jet Fighter Flights was originally located.

Family and friends joined to say a last farewell

to Nick as a Tiger Moth flew low overhead in tribute.

"Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth".....
