This aircraft is unique in that is was used, back in 1957, as a Service Communications aircraft and Personal Transport for the Chief of Staff of the German Luftwaffe ! Passengers included German Chancellor Adenauer.
The Heron has changed hands many times, seeing service in the United Kingdom, Portuguese Guinea, Alice Springs (converted to Riley Heron for Connair), Wagga (for Kendall Airlines), Brisbane, King and Flinders Islands and Fiji (Sunflower Airlines). |
